Technical Information >> (5J) Coating on Bright Acid Zinc with electrophretic lacquers

Coating on Bright Acid Zinc with electrophretic lacquers is suitable option to save cost.

Existing complicated process is Brass plating first than Nickel plating (to level surface) followed with thin coat of silver flash (for brightness followed with TC lacquering process with In-lacquer dye or 'Post dye'.

Cost saving option would be to skip Nickle and silver flash stage process and after Bright Acid Zinc plating it can be followed with TC lacquering process with In-lacquer dye or 'Post dye' is alternative process.

Bye using dye and Matt additive in lacquer, Satin Nickle finish can be achieved. There is no need for passivation after Acid Zinc plating. It needs to be wet on wet process as continuation of plating to use electrophoretic lacquer.

If components are passivated best to remove passivation to avoid patchy deposits.
